Who we are

Jervis Bay Christian Community School is a K-6 school located at Vincentia near beautiful Jervis Bay. The Jervis Bay Baptist Church members established the school in 1998 to offer an education firmly based on biblical principles perspective and values.

A caring community atmosphere is one of the ‘hallmarks’ of our school. Combined with our dedicated & gifted staff who, as Christians, view their service to the school as a ministry. At JBCCS, we view our school as a community of staff, students and parents working together to make our school a place where your child is equipped for life now, and in the future.

Enrolment is open to children whose parents, regardless of denomination or church attendance, support the schools Christian ethics.

Although the school is fully independent, it is associated with other Christian Schools throughout Australia through its affiliation with Christian Schools Australia, an organisation established to provide advice and support to Christian schools throughout the South Pacific. There are approximately 150 C.S.A schools in Australia.

The school is currently located on the grounds of the Jervis Bay Baptist Church at Vincentia. We are in the process of developing plans to relocate the school to a 50-acre site at the ‘crossroads’ at Vincentia.

The Principal, Board & Staff is committed to continue to grow the school and provide quality, affordable Christian education in the Bay & Basin area.

The key focus areas of our school are:

• Christian values:
Our curriculum and teaching methods are centred on the example of Jesus Christ. Values such as love for & faith in God, respect for our fellow man, honesty, obedience and responsibility for one’s actions are reinforced.

• Caring Community:
Our aim is for each student to develop relationships and to experience a sense of belonging: being a valued and productive member of the school and wider community where we serve the needs of others.

• Individual development:
We believe that every child has special gifts and talents and that every child should be valued as an individual. Our policy of small class sizes enables us to better identify specific talents and particular needs.

• Environmental awareness:
Our environmentally rich new school site is a resource for our important focus on conservation and developing responsible ecologically sustainable practices, helping our students to learn to ‘tread lightly’ on God’s earth.
