Fee Relief Policy

At JBCCS, we realise that not everyone has the means to pay for Christian education and that sometimes families financial circumstances can change.

Therefore the School Board has made provision to be able to provide financial support when and where it is necessary.

Our Fee Relief Policy allows parents to fulfil their proper financial responsibility for the education of their children without any family being required to carry a burden greater than they can manage. It also involves a sharing of this responsibility within the community of the school in line with the Bible’s instruction to Christians to share one another’s burdens.

We provide financial support:

    • through fees being reduced, relevant to each situation
    • through the establishment of a fund for scholarships or assistance provided       by donations or other support, eg. Those who can afford to support other          children as well as their own.

Priority will be given to those families that have demonstrated commitment to the School, as evidenced by Parent involvement in the past year, (as well as involvement proposed in the coming year), regular payment of past tuition fees, and the number of children enrolled in the school.

Applying for Fee Relief

    • An ‘Application for fee relief’ form is to be completed detailing financial income with documentation to be provided. The form should        be signed by both parents.
    • A Fee Relief application is relevant for 1 year and subsequent year’s applications require a new form to be completed.
    • A committee consisting of the Bursar, a staff member, and a Board member, or its delegate assesses the application.
Parents will be advised in writing of the outcome of the application.
    • The detail of any application and the subsequent outcome is confidential between the parent and the school and should not be               discussed with any other person.
    • Not all applications will receive assistance.
