Enrolment Policy

At JBCCS, we believe that Parents are responsible for the raising of their children in His way and in providing them with a Christian worldview.
(Deuteronomy 4:9) However, parents can delegate authority to teachers to train their children. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Therefore we aim to:

• Assist Christian parents in the education of their children with a Christian worldview given in a Christian environment;

• Provide an outreach into our local community;

• Provide education that is an extension of the prime education received
in the home;

• Have a clear, gospel based focus that supports the home environment
and teaching.

Who can apply for enrolment?

We welcome applications from any parent who would desire to have their children taught in a Christian environment. We accept enrolments from Christian families and non-church attending families that want Christian values and morals instilled in their children. Careful consideration is given to all applications regardless of church or denominational affiliation.

When considering applications, the following points are taken into consideration:

• That parents are supportive of the Christian perspective as embraced by the school and are in fellowship with a Christian church;

• Where there are not two Christian parents, the non-Christian parent should be agreeable to and supportive of the enrolment in the school;

• Students who have a demonstrated commitment to Christ can be enrolled without parental Christian background;

• A ceiling of 40% of students from unchurched families per class applies;
• We endeavour to aid disadvantaged students where possible; (see Fee Relief Policy)

• However, we need to ensure that the school has adequate and/or appropriate resources to educate applicants with special needs;

• We give priority to siblings of students already enrolled;

• We provide courses or information about courses for parents/guardians who would like their children to be enrolled, but feel they themselves have not met the criteria requiring Christian understanding and church fellowship;

• We provide appropriate limitations on age requirements for commencing school apply. Applications for enrolment of Kindergarten children who will not turn five before April 30th will generally not be successful;

• We have appropriate limitations on children with special needs within each class apply.
